Completed! WAYA Chalmers Field Backstop - Jory R

Hi, I am Jory Richardson a Boy Scout in Troop 5 in Austin, a senior at Austin High School, and a lifelong community member of WAYA. After 8 years of dedication to the Boy Scouts of America, I am excited to achieve a major final milestone and highest rank as an Eagle Scout. In order to do this, I must organize and complete a significant and lasting community service project. For my Eagle Project, I am conducting facility improvements and building a sports backstop on the south side of WAYA's Chalmers Field off of W. Cezar Chavez St. right near Austin High School.

I am fundraising in order to afford the price of $8,700 for the backstop netting system. The backstop would greatly benefit the youth sports that use the field by saving money and by preventing lost equipment. Additionally, the backstop will help protect the pedestrians and vehicles in the adjacent road and greenbelt. Any extra money due to any circumstance will be given to WAYA, the beneficiary. I am very grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in our community. Additionally, I thank you in advance for your consideration and support of my Eagle project and WAYA.
