Bring water to a small farm to help feed children
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kru Kimoto, I'm 19 years old and I am looking for your help to achieve something that will change the lives of hundreds of children on Rusinga Island, Kenya. I will be volunteering at Milman academy for orphaned children on this Island and have already arrived(January 20th). I hope to gain the necessary funds to provide a way to bring water to small farm that will help feed these children for years to come.
What this project is about?
The goal of the project is to build a water pump system that will draw water from lake Victoria. The water that is taken from the lake will then be used to grow food on a small farm near the school. This system will be simple and extremely easy to maintain, so building this system won’t just affect children today but will continue to affect children years from now.
“Anyone who can solve the problems of water will be worthy of two Nobel Prizes; one for Peace and one for Science” John F. Kennedy
Why?
Milman academy needs help feeding these children. By building a pump the small farm nearby will have access to water allowing it to grow food. The school will have a burden lifted as the task of finding ways to feed the children will become easier, especially because relying on the rains is sometimes unpredictable making it hard to grow large quantities of food with out a irrigation system.
How Much will it cost?
The system its self will not cost more than $5,000. I am hoping to keep the cost under $4,000 but any money left over funds will be used where it is needed at the school.
Conclusion
These children need help, but I can't do this without your support. With your donation, you will be helping hundreds of children receive something that everyone in this world should have. Please help me to change the world today.
