Last year, my mam’s best friend, Gerty, passed away after a brave battle with cancer. Gerty was like a second mother to me and my siblings growing up. She spent her whole life supporting and raising money for local and national charities, always thinking of others and doing whatever she could to make life easier for those who were suffering. She is deeply missed by us all, but I know she’d be so proud that we’re raising money for a charity that looked after her and her family with such care.

Gerty will always be one of the strongest and most inspiring people I have ever met – and a legend down in Tallow! I’ll be thinking of her a lot on the 27th of April. All money raised will go directly to Waterford Hospice. Thank you so much!
