Some of you will know that my own dad is currently on his cancer journey, 2 years ago during my leaving cert my uncle Garrett lost his battle to cancer… This had a very bad effect on me. I’m proud to say that my Mam works on the Oak ward and always says that Waterford hospice are always thrilled to accept donations from the kind people of Waterford and the south east area.These fund are vital to enhance patient care and comfort. Pot for Pat

This tournament is dedicated to the memory of Pat Hayes, who lost his long battle with cancer last year.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Oak Ward Palliative Care Wing at University Hospital Waterford (UHW), in Pat’s honour.

Tournament Details:

Venues: Bridgie’s Terries, Crotty’s Inn, and Miclin’s Bar

Entry Fee: €10

Prizes:

1st Place – €250

2nd Place – €100

Entry Deadline: November 3rd

Semi-Finals & Final: December 20th at Bridgie’s Terries

(with live music and a draw for prizes on the night!)

How to Enter:

Sign-up sheets are available at Crotty’s Inn, Bridgie’s Terries, and Miclin’s Bar.

Add your name and contact number, and you’ll be included in a WhatsApp group where fixtures will be shared.

House Rules:

Each venue will follow its own rules, available upon request.

Your donation — big or small — will directly support the Oak Ward's continued care for patients and families in need. Even if you can't join the tournament, your contribution makes a real difference.

My 7 year old Daughter Ava is cutting 14inches off her hair and raising money for the Waterford Hospice. Her hair will go to the Rapunzel Charity. She would love any donations to help raise money for her chosen charity.

Kill GAA Club in conjunction with Waterpark RFC are hosting a Compromise Rules (Football & Rugby) Match to raise funds for Waterford Palliative Care, a subsidiary of WATERFORD HOSPICE MOVEMENT LIMITED.

Our great friend Andy Crowley was a beneficiary of the wonderful help and support provided Waterford Palliative Care during the latter end of his all too short time here with us.

Andy had two passions in life, his local football club (Kill GAA), and his rugby club (Waterpark RFC). The lifetime contribution made by Andy to both clubs has left memories that will never fade.

In memory of Andy, and our appreciation for the services of Waterford Palliative Care, we feel a Compromise Rules Game as a platform for fund-raising to this invaluable service a necessity. It's what Andy would have done.

Myself, Mam, Michelle and Fiona will be walking 500km collectively in the month of April. We're taking this on in memory of Dad for the month of his birthday and for an amazing cause, Waterford Hospice. We cannot thank and praise the staff enough for the care that they gave to Dad while he was on the Oak ward, and also how they looked after us as a family so well. They are reliant on fundraising to continue to do the amazing work they do, so if anybody can make a donation, it would be really really appreciated.

Last year, my mam’s best friend, Gerty, passed away after a brave battle with cancer. Gerty was like a second mother to me and my siblings growing up. She spent her whole life supporting and raising money for local and national charities, always thinking of others and doing whatever she could to make life easier for those who were suffering. She is deeply missed by us all, but I know she’d be so proud that we’re raising money for a charity that looked after her and her family with such care.

Gerty will always be one of the strongest and most inspiring people I have ever met – and a legend down in Tallow! I’ll be thinking of her a lot on the 27th of April. All money raised will go directly to Waterford Hospice. Thank you so much!
