Hi, This is Anne Saunders, friend of the late Senior Law Woman, Mrs. P. I am supporting her great granddaughter, Wanatjura. a courageous, young Pitjantjatjara mother who is having to evacuate her remote desert Homelands at a powerful and sacred healing place called Umutju, 2 hours drive along a desert track from Kata Tjuta. She has been sole custodian of this important remote area with her small family and camels have trampled their only access to water. Through various fundraising events we are seeking to cover the quote of $17,000 to fix the bore and solar pump system plus remote labour is expensive and a protective fence will be needed to avoid this occurring again.

Mrs P had many friends and Wanatjura's dream is to embody her great grandmother's "New Way" vision to not only protect Umutju but to make the place available again for Ceremony and all women willing to learn and share her culture.
