Help Us Build a Water Well for My Dad – A Survivor, a Builder, a Legacy
My Dad, Claudell Fails, lives on the land his grandfather once called home - a small piece of our family’s heritage that means the world to him, in Sinbad, Colorado. For the past few years, he’s been building his own home there, step by step, by hand. He’s poured his heart and soul into that house, determined to preserve our family legacy. But there’s one thing missing: water.
For years, my dad has been hauling water to survive - loading, lifting, and transporting hundreds of gallons just to have enough for daily use. But now, at over 60 years old and recently diagnosed with diabetes, that burden has become more than just difficult - it’s dangerous.
He’s not alone on the property. Two other family members, also over 60, live there too. And none of them have running water. It’s not just a convenience anymore - it’s a necessity. We urgently need to raise $30,000 to drill a well that will provide clean, running water to my Dad and the other family members on the land.
Claudell is no stranger to hardship. He is the widower of Private First Class Dorothy Lee Fails, my mother, who died in Desert Storm in 1991. Since then, he’s faced tragedy after tragedy, including a severe construction accident that left him with a broken leg and a head injury. Still, he survived. He always survives.
But now he needs help.
He’s tired. He’s hurting. And he’s still giving everything he has to keep going.
This well would change everything - not just for Claudell, but for everyone on that land. It would mean dignity, safety, and independence in the years to come. No more hauling barrels. No more relying on others. Just water. Simple, life-giving water.
We are reaching out to friends, family, veterans, neighbors, and compassionate strangers - anyone who believes in honoring legacy, in helping survivors, and in making sure no elder has to go without something so basic.
Please consider donating, sharing, or praying for this mission. Every drop counts.
Thank you for your kindness, your time, and your heart.
