Hello everyone!
My name is Kayden and I have a close connection with humanitarian projects in Africa since my dad and paternal grandparents grew up in Kampala, Uganda. They constantly share their stories about how different life was there, compared to living here in Canada. This, combined with my eager desire to assist those in need, created a strong sense for me to take action, no matter how big or small. This was further propelled when I travelled to East Africa a few years ago, where I was blown away by the beauty and nature that surrounded me, yet saddened by some of the living conditions I saw.
When my stepdad Peter visited Africa earlier this year, he felt a strong connection to the beautiful land as well. This inspired Peter to do a give-back project in Africa. Coincidentally, at almost the exact same time, his good friend Dr. Seid Aman reached out to us from Ethiopia. Dr. Aman is the Country Director at Imagine 1 Day, and all-around an amazing individual who has done incredible work to impact the next generation through education. The three of us had the chance to meet in person while Dr. Aman was visiting Vancouver and I got to hear about his current project; to buy a water drill rig to scale his continuous efforts in building more water wells in Ethiopia. I learned that he has built over 100+ wells to date, and continues to feel the need and benefit for more.
I am proud to join forces with Peter in this fundraising endeavour. Our goal is to raise the money to purchase a Water Drilling Rig (PAT 501) to drill more water wells in Ethiopia. I feel my calling to support Dr. Aman's project and I hope you can join us in this effort. Thank you for reading my story and feel free to inquire more about the project beyond what I share here.
Please take some time to check out all of Dr. Aman and Imagine 1 Day's work and stories at https://www.imagine1day.org.
