Warming Hearts
It's not everyday that amazing people come into your life. A few years ago we were introduced to a family of 4, Mom, Dad, son and daughter. Over the years they have become some of the best friends that we have. They're hard workers, wonderful parents, and most of all, they care about their children and other people with their entire hearts.
Our friends have been handed a rough path in life. Dad is a disabled Veteran and is unable to work. Mom has a Masters Degree in biology and is unable to find a job in her field of study so she works other jobs to support their family. With the constant changes in Government assistance, their funding grows increasingly smaller each year.
Their daughter suffers from several diseases, including Celiac disease. Gluten-free food pricing is higher than traditional food, making grocery shopping expensive and difficult.
Earlier this year we found out that their home does not have heat. They survived last winter (the coldest one we've had in decades) by heating their home using their dryer vent and stove. This year we are on a mission to warm their home and hearts.
John Poyle, from Hagerstown Heating and Cooling, has offered to purchase and install a heating system that will not only warm their home, but keep their electric bill low. John has graciously offered to cover half of the cost, and we need help raising funds for the other half.
Please consider helping this family stay warm this winter. With your help, they will not have to open the oven door to stay warm.
On behalf of our friends, thank you for being such an important part of this journey.
