Hello, my name is Anthony Barash and I am proud to be an MSU alumnus from the Class of 2023. While at MSU, I dedicated myself to service, serving as an elected representative in student government, leading the Spartans Rebuilding Michigan registered student organization, serving on the Deans' Students Advisory Council for the College of Social Science, and serving on the University Student Commission with the City of East Lansing. I am a three-time recipient of the Spartan Volunteer Service Award and was specially recognized for contributing more than 500 volunteer hours in a single year while being a full-time student at MSU.

One of the projects that I passionately worked on as a student was advocating for heated bus shelters on campus. Anyone who has waited for the bus in Michigan winters knows how difficult it can be, standing in the freezing cold with little protection. With more students relying on public transportation every year, this is an amazing opportunity to make campus life safer, warmer, and more accessible.

That is why I am launching this campaign to fund a Heated Bus Shelter Pilot Program at Michigan State University in partnership with CATA. The idea is simple: install infrared heaters in one shelter on campus, gather real-world data, and evaluate its impact. If successful, this could lead to heated shelters being rolled out across campus and throughout the greater Lansing area, just as the successful free bus pilot program was adopted in 2018.

This project is about more than comfort. It is about improving the daily lives of thousands of students, faculty, staff, and community members who depend on public transportation. With your support, we can take the first step toward making winters at MSU a little more bearable, one warm bus stop at a time.

Every contribution helps bring this vision closer to reality. Thank you for helping make MSU a better and warmer place for all Spartans.
