I’m going to try to get more of his story tomorrow when he comes in but I’m going to going ahead and put this out there, because it’s going to be cold again tomorrow night. There’s been a homeless man, “Lucky” coming in to work to eat lately. We get that from time to time, people that are struggling, but this one is different. I know my senses are right with him and he is a good, genuine soul. He’s never asked for anything other than help with trying to figure out where he could stay tonight with the cash that he had. He came in wrapped in a foil bag, freezing cold, after staying outside last night. So I called around to hotels, super 8 said they would take his cash so he walked there. I gave him my phone number and said call me if you have any trouble. He called me to tell me that they wanted $250 deposit so he couldn’t stay there but Best Western took him and he had $5 left over, he just called to let me know not to worry ☺️ He seems to manage ok, but I sure would like to get him a place to sleep at least for tomorrow night again while it’s cold. First time I ever met him he was passing through at the gas station on hwy 54 and he complimented my jacket. Never asks for a thing, just a really nice, good dude. Army vet. Down on his luck. And not on drugs.. I had also called pitino shelter and he said “he’d stay in negative 30 degrees outside before sleeping next to dopers.” I can absolutely tell he’s not on drugs, just struggling
