This winter, the Wharton Christian Fellowship is partnering with the Bethesda Project in Philadelphia to provide warm winter coats to our neighbors experiencing homelessness. As temperatures drop, a coat becomes more than just clothing. It becomes protection, dignity, and sometimes the difference between safety and serious harm.
Through our partnership with the Bethesda Project, an organization that has faithfully served the unhoused community in Philadelphia for decades, we are raising funds to purchase winter coats that will be distributed directly to those in need. Every dollar raised will go toward providing warmth, comfort, and care to individuals facing the harsh realities of winter on the streets.
Jesus reminds us of the weight of this calling in Matthew 25:43, “I needed clothes and you did not clothe me.” This verse challenges us not only to feel compassion, but to act on it. Our goal is to be people who respond with love, generosity, and obedience by meeting a real, tangible need in this great city!
