WAN MAIR TUNE FUND Scottish Creatives VS COVID-19

We are taking inspiration from Norn Iron sisters Abbie Spallen and Fionnuala Kennedy to help our Scottish community. This is a fund for Scottish arts practitioners and creatives affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

WAN MAIR TUNE is for freelancers whose lifeline gigs have been slashed, who need an extra bit of help - be it for scran or the lecky. The aim is to hit a target of £10,000 - this would mean we'd be able to distribute £200 to up to 50 freelance artists and creatives on a first come first serve basis. If we raise more than £10K, that means we can help even more people. It's not a massive amount, we know, but for some people, it might just keep the wolves from the door for another month. The gig economy we currently exist in was fragile at the best of times, but in these unprecedented times, it's starting to collapse with no safety net.

This is a community based endeavour that will operate in good faith, discretion and transparency. Funds will be distributed once we hit our target so please spread the word far and wide.

Persistent and Nasty are organising a simple application form; they will answer questions, offer support and are happy to take any advice or suggestions you have for this initiative. You can email them directly on [email redacted].

In the meantime, for those of you who had a good year, or have  a sexy salary and a bit to spare, please give what ye can. And for those of you riddled with anxiety, hang tight. We can do this together.
