Wallers walk across Midguard

Donation protected
My Names Matthew "Dhobi" Waller

Im raising funds for the Nerthus Project which is a project to raise funds for the heathen community to buy land where we can build a temple to our gods where all heathens can worship and gather.

We are an inclusive community and Heathenry or Asatru or Norse paganism (whichever you want to call it) has brought me an incredible amount of peace and direction in life. So now its time for me to give back and honour the community and our gods by trying to help donate towards this amazing cause.

I was gutted that i couldn't join you all on the Midgardian march which saw some incredible people scale ben Nevis which sadly i couldn't be apart of so this is my way of doing my part.

so what i intend on doing is walking the west highland way with a few extra spicy bits added in.

The initial walk will take me from Milngavie just outside of Glasgow up towards loch Lomond.

ill walk the east bank of loch Lomand and head towards beinglas and up to the falls of Falloch. So far so good right? nice and picturesc

from there ill head towards Crainlarich then hang a left over to Tyndrum. This then allows me to head up to the bridge of Orchy where the more challenging parts start.

While in that area ill be climbing/walking/crawling up:

Bein Dorain (1076m)
Cairn Sasunnaich (1063 m)
Beinn an Dothaidh (1004 m)

back down the bridge of orchy and up to glen Coe.

Then ill be going up:
Stob a choire odhair (945 m)
Beinn Toaig (834 m)

Then head towards Kinlochleven

Next loop is:
Am Bodach (1092 m)
Stob coire a Chairn (981 m)
An Gearanach (982 m)

Ill drop back to the West highland way and go up

Sgor an Iubhair (1001 m)
Sgurr a Mhaim (1099 m)

Then onto the bein nevis loop. This will be the most challenging

while here there i will be going up:

carn dearg (1020m) however im unsure if that will be possible with the kit/route and ill asses when i get there
meall cumhann (699m)
Carn Mor Dearg (1220 m)
Carn Dearg Meadhonarch (1180 m)
Carn Beag Dearg (1066 m)
The charles inglis clark memorial hut
Before finally heading up ben nevis.

Ill finish in Fort William.

I will be wild camping along the way. This is solely going to be me against the elements and its going to be a tough one. I wanted to raise money for Nerthus because i want land for heathens. A home for our gods that anyone can go to. Our community means so much to me and what better way to honour the gods and the AUK community than pushing the very limits of what i am (or think i am) capable of.

The initial goal is to raise 500 pounds. That's my goal. I aren't gifted to be a craftsman and donate something to give away. I drink all the mead i brew and the only thing i can do is walk like forest gump. So that's what im going to do! Anyone is welcome to join me on certain legs if they wish. However ill be doing it at my own pace. Some days ill go further than others. some days i wont however i aim to have this completed in 6 days.

its over 200 km from start to finish

ver 7800 m accent
around 70 hours of walking.

I am inspired by everyone that went up Nevis, im in awe of this amazing community and want to do something to help get to the goal!

I will post video updates along the way Ill be startring early hours on the 12th of August and hoping for 6 days however i have allowed up to 7 to get this smashed.

Any donations will be welcomed and all money raised will be going to the nerthus. I have all the kit i need and grab food along the way.

And when we get to helsmoot we can all sit and laugh at what a stupid idea this was

As always. Big love

This is the main route

That is my planned stages
