Wall Twp 4th Grader Loses Dad To Cancer & COVID
Hi everyone,
As many of you know, Vinnie Apicelli passed away on January 29 2022 at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Vinnie left the world too soon at the age of 52. He was rushed to the hospital on Christmas morning and remained there, while fighting COVID-19 on top of being diagnosed with stage 4 Cancer in October. He lost his father on December 28th, a few days after Vinnie was admitted.
Vinnie was a lifelong resident of West Belmar and a great friend to many. He graduated from Wall High School in 1989 and then attended Ocean County College. You could find him coaching his daughters softball team, and being an umpire at Harry Rash Fields. He devoted himself to his best friend and daughter, Ashley Apicelli. She is currently 9 years old and attends West Belmar Elementary School, the same school her father attended as a child. She is a sweet, strong and caring 4th grader who shares many of her fathers quirks and hobbies.
Anyone who knew Vinnie knows how much he loved his little girl, she remained his number one priority regardless of his diagnosis. Her entire life changed as a result of this tragedy and she could use any emotional and financial support to get through this hard time; as Vinnie had no will or life insurance. This money will go towards her basic life needs, as well as her future in order to attend college.
Thank you for all of the support throughout this hard time.
Each and every donation is appreciated more than you know. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please pray for Ashley and the rest of the family during this difficult time.
