Walking Gear for Paediatric Day Surgery

£120 raised of £150

During my work experience in Paediatric Day Surgery, the same hospital where I once had surgery as a child, I saw fear in its rawest form.
A child frozen before theatre. Bright lights. Strange machines. Clinging to their parent like it was the only safe thing left in the world.
Years ago, that was me.
Then a simple Stitch book was placed in their hands. Their breathing slowed. Their grip softened. The fear didn’t disappear, but it became bearable.
I’m walking 10km at Gear in King’s Lynn, wearing stitch Pyjamas, to raise £150 so no child has to walk into theatre without something to hold onto. I’ll start with empty hands, just like the children walking in scared and alone. Towards the end, I’ll be handed a Stitch teddy, symbolising the moment comfort turns fear into something survivable.
All funds raised will be used by me to personally purchase comfort toys and books, which I will donate directly to the Paediatric Day Surgery unit.
This isn’t just a walk.
It’s a stand for every tiny hand shaking under the glare of theatre lights.
Because a little comfort can create a lot of courage.
