As a family, we are challenging ourselves to walk or run 25k during the week of 9th–15th October 2024, in support of Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity) — a cause incredibly close to our hearts.
Earlier this year, we experienced one of the most heartbreaking times of our lives when we lost our baby at 13 weeks pregnant. After a scan revealed catastrophic findings, we were faced with the devastating decision to end the pregnancy and deliver our baby. Coming home from the hospital without our baby was something we never imagined could happen to us.
The grief that followed was overwhelming — a deep sense of loss, heartbreak, and guilt. In those dark days, Sands was there. They supported us, listened to us, and helped us begin the long road to healing. We will always carry our precious baby in our hearts — lovingly remembered by their siblings as the “baby in the sky”, and forever a part of our family.

Raising Awareness for Baby Loss & Partial Molar Pregnancy
Over the past two years, we’ve faced many challenges in our journey to grow our family. We are endlessly grateful for the children we are lucky to hold today, and we walk not just for the baby we have lost, but for all the babies who left too soon.
We also want to raise awareness about something many have never heard of — a partial molar pregnancy — which we were diagnosed with in February 2024. This is a rare complication where the fertilized egg develops abnormally. Instead of a healthy baby and placenta, the pregnancy forms a mixture of normal and abnormal tissue. Though there may be some fetal development, the pregnancy is not viable and cannot survive.
Partial molar pregnancies are caused by incorrect genetic material — usually too many chromosomes — and can lead to serious complications if not treated. They require careful monitoring, sometimes surgery, and follow-up to ensure all abnormal tissue is gone. In rare cases, further treatment is needed.
It’s an incredibly difficult experience, and one that is not often talked about. We hope by sharing our story, we can help others feel less alone and shine a light on this lesser-known aspect of pregnancy loss.

Please Support Us
We are walking as a family — pushing the buggy and running (sometimes!), with Kyle aged 9 and Willow aged 2.5 scooting behind us! Every step is in memory of the baby we didn’t get to bring home, and in honour of all families who know this pain.
Please donate if you can — no amount is too small. Your support means so much, and every penny raised goes toward helping Sands continue their vital work supporting grieving families and funding research to save babies’ lives.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
With love,
The Anthony’s
Molly, David, Kyle and Willow
