Walking for Hope: Support St. Anthony's Shelter

A new journey…..
In May, my daughter and I will walk the El Camino in Spain to mark the beginning of new chapters in both our lives. Over the last several years our lives have been in a state of transition and as I look forward and consider what is next for myself personally and professionally, I decided an intentional pilgrimage would be beneficial for both body and spirit. Sam is also entering a new phase in her own life journey, so she too agreed to join me.

I’m nervous, excited and hopeful about our 100 mile walk and have decided to raise funds for the St. Anthony’s Shelter in the Bronx. I chose this organization for multiple reasons. Their location speaks to my roots. My parents met, married and started their life in the Bronx. St. Anthony has been my patron Saint since I was a teen and the shelter nourishes body and soul for men who are homeless and on the road of recovery from addiction and incarceration. The friars who serve there take a vow of poverty and give selflessly to support those in need in the toughest communities. Because of this, they don’t have a fancy website or peer to peer fundraising platform so I have to use gofundme to help them.
I am attaching a link to their website below:

I will be posting pics and updates here as I prepare and make this special pilgrimage of HOPE.
