“Our Angela...

It's impossible not to smile when we think of Angela - her determination, wit, strength and just all round wonderfulness was hard to miss and having her as part of our Stopford's family is something that we treasured. We aren't just colleagues here at Stopford’s, we are a family - a complete unit of solidarity and support for each other and genuinely such great friends.

With the bond that we all have it was devasting when we found out that Angela had been told that her time with us was to become extremely limited and that she would be spending the period she had left at John Eastwood Hospice in Mansfield.

A place of true comfort and care, a sense of warmth as soon as you walk in and so much support to the friends and families of those who are spending their time at John Eastwood, is all that anyone would want for their loved ones at such a difficult time.

The team at John Eastwood are honestly some of the kindest, caring and most generous people you could ever meet so supporting such an incredible charity means a great deal to us here at Stopford's as we cannot thank them enough for the care and consideration they provided for Angela.

With this in mind, as a team we have decided to do a 22-mile hike in the Peak District National Park on Saturday 5th August 2023 to raise money for the incredible charity that is John Eastwood Hospice.

With the determination, wit and strength that we all knew Angela for, we decided to be just as determined, just as witty and just as strong to tackle the hills, miles, weather and the hardship of a 22-mile hike to raise as much money as we can for a cause that is so close to our hearts.

Taking in the climb up to the Kinder Plateau, along to Lord’s Seat, Mam Tor, Lose Hill and down into the valley of Edale and a final push up Jacob’s Ladder, this hike will certainly challenge us.

We know times are tough at the moment, but any donation that can be comfortably and affordably made would be so gratefully received.
