Our family has suffered a substantial hardship. Someone fell asleep behind the wheel, and hit our parked car. Our car was totaled, leaving us without transportation, and resulting in a loss of income due to our inability to commute to and from work. We thank God that the driver is alive and well, and that no one was injured in the incident. We are now completely reliant on the city bus as our source of transportation, making it extremely difficult and time consuming to handle our everyday needs, including shopping, appointments, and extracurricular activities. Our daily commute to and from football and cheer practice requires a half an hour of walking, and over 3 hours of traveling on the bus one way, with the same travel time to return home. During the walk, I tripped and fell and broke my foot, which has made this all the more difficult. We lose 7 hours of our day using public transportation, and this has become beyond manageable. We are doing everything that we can to get our children where they need to be, and keep them in their sports activities, but without transportation this is just an extreme hardship. So many have expressed how they would love to support and have suggested that we create a GoFundMe so that our need to get a new vehicle can be supported.
