Please support me in My challenge to walk snowdon with no feeling in my legs
Hi, my name is Emily, and I have FND!
I was diagnosed with FND back in 2022, for me like most people FND wasn’t a quick diagnosis to get and not really an easy one to come to terms with either especially with the lack of information you are given at diagnosis!
My FND started with pain in my legs that was unbearable to the point I couldn’t cope with things touching my skin but then one day in July 2023 after a seizure I lost all feeling in my legs and it hasn’t come back since. For me this meant learning to walk again from scratch with out being able to feel the floor and while now most days I can walk around like a “normal” person on flat surfaces, (bumps and uneven terrain are a different story) I still have days where I can’t move my legs or get about at all, but I am slowly getting the hang of taking good days with the bad and understanding what my body will let me do!
So I have set myself the challenge to walk up snowdon, while I’m aware at the moment I can’t walk anywhere near far enough to get anywhere near the top I will be training to tackle snowdon at the end of September, all while hopefully raising a bit of money for FND action in the hope that we can make it easier for the next people diagnosed with this and help educate doctors and other people too!
Please follow along as I post the highs and lows of my training and take on snowdon soon!
I’m raising money to benefit FND Action, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
