In the effort of supporting a great friend and incredibly amazing selfless man, I am reaching out for your support.

Robbie Schader is a good friend who also happens to be the CBO of Yempowerment, INC. (Bakersfield, CA), he has taken it upon himself to walk across America and highlight statistics surrounding child abuse, in efforts of aiding the awareness on a topic that is normally unspoken of. Well, he doesn't think we should keep quiet any longer, he is ready to make some noise and believes actions speak louder than words.

Robbie and his wife Nila Hogan recognized a need for services needed here in Kern County, therefore they opened Y-Empowerment, Inc., it is a non-profit organization that’s main objective is that of helping youth who have experienced domestic violence overcome their adversities and help live healthy and productive lives. At Y-Empowerment Inc., we provide several services to domestic violence victims such as Domestic Violence Counseling and Advocacy, Anger Management and Parenting Classes, Sexual Abuse Prevention classes, Supervised Visitation, as well as CPR and First Aid Certifications.

The Walk is Y-Empowerment’s vision of bringing awareness and aid in the prevention of child abuse within Kern County. We provide services for children who have experienced abuse, witnessed domestic violence, or have parents who are or have been incarcerated. Through Youth mentoring, social interaction, education, and empowerment of themselves with our daily workshops, retreats, and camps. Robbie and Nila are dedicated to enabling our youth to follow the walk into a safe and healthy life.

I am seeking your support by way of donations to help alleviate the cost of this cross-country trek that Robbie and Nila have decided to finance completely on their own. Your donation would contribute to fuel for the safety vehicle following Robbie, and the cost of food, supplies, campsite fees, and other unexpected expenses.
