Walk in memory of Big Phil

In February this year we faced the sudden loss of our colleague and friend Big Phil.

Phil was our gentle giant; one of the most placid people to ever meet, went out of his way to help you, and would never say no.

The hole he has left has been huge, and now we want to help his 3 girls – his wife Jem, and 2 daughters Gracie & Erin, and of course not forgetting his dog/companion/and best friend Roscoe. Phil was, before anything else, a family man, and they were his absolute world. Losing your husband and daddy at just the age of 39 should not be something anyone has to deal with, and hopefully by raising some money we can give Phil’s 3 girls a holiday or a trip to a festival (as they always did as a family) to give them a little fun and happiness as they work through this difficult time.

On 28th September his work family UK Landcare, and Phil's direct friends/family are going to complete a walk in his memory from Wilmslow, Phil’s main place of work, back to Distant Hills Brewery Old Glossop, a place where Phil spent many happy times with his family and friends. So far we have a team of 30 (and hoping to recruit/arm twist a few more before then!)

This is approximately 22 miles and will be sharing memories of Phil along the way – he would have been the first person to sign up for fundraising and helping out! And of course would also be the first to the bar at the end.

Hi wife Jem has also noted the importance of the stroke association and helping them to prevent other families going through this. Therefore, we will be donating 15% of monies raised to this charity with the remaining 85% to the family.
