Want to join me in making a difference? The University of Derby, Mental Health Nursing Team are walking around Carsington Reservoir on 24th October 2025 to raise money to benefit WORTH: WOMEN ON THE ROAD TO HEALING, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
WORTH (Women On the Road To Healing) was founded in 2014 by Robyn Riggans, a survivor of domestic abuse. Robyn discovered that although there are many charities supporting women to escape an abusive relationship, there is very little to help women on the healing journey and provide long term aftercare as they recover and rebuild their lives.
WORTH has grown and developed out of Robyn’s story and the stories of the women WORTH has supported through the years. Some of these women now volunteer with WORTH and are an integral part of the charity.
Many domestic abuse survivors find themselves having lost friends after leaving the relationship and often suffer with anxiety and depression. WORTH offers a 1 -1 befriending service to help women develop new friendships and support networks.
WORTH provides a safe space to share experiences, give and receive support, learn new skills, reduce isolation, build friendships and give women their voice back. It is a space where we can focus on the future and support our clients on their journey of healing post domestic abuse.
WORTH offers a range of wellbeing groups which help rebuild confidence and self esteem and give women the tools they need to move on in life.
WORTH works with different faith and community groups to raise awareness of domestic abuse and provide training to aid these groups to spot the signs and respond appropriately.
