Hello! We are Annabel (age 10), and Imogen (age 7). Together with our Daddy, Paul, we are undertaking a 10km ‘Twilight’ sponsored walk from Maggie’s Manchester to the city centre and back again on Friday 27th June. We are doing this because we really want to raise money for Maggie’s, as they have given us lots of support and help during the last few years, when our Mummy has been poorly with terminal cancer. This will be a challenge for us as we only have little legs but we are determined to do this for Maggie’s. We would be very grateful for any support you can give us.
Annabel’s story:
Over the last few years, it has been a massive emotional rollercoaster with a bunch of highs and lows. There have been lots of anxiety and sadness but also lots of lovely wonderful memories that we will never forget. We are currently in a situation where Mummy is in hospital and has been going through a lot of pain. She probably won’t eat that much for the rest of her life which may not be for that much longer. We have all found this hard and have had a lot of anxiety but Maggie’s has helped us amazingly. We really look forwards to going because the staff and volunteers are really kind and friendly. We usually sit in a cosy, quiet room or in the beautiful garden and read, colour or have a chat. We always enjoy being at Maggie’s and it makes us all feel better when we are a bit down.
Imi’s story:
It has been a tough time but we have pushed through by going to Maggie’s and loads of other people helping us. So many people have been so kind. We are trying to raise as much money as we can for Maggie’s. Maggie’s have been really helpful by helping us to stay strong and talk through our worries, and so we want to help Maggie’s as much as we can too and for Maggie’s to feel that they are also supported.
