Walk All Over Cancer - 10k steps per day in March!

Hello, and thanks for visiting our page!

My colleagues and I are taking part in a 10k steps a day challenge sponsored by Cancer Research, and we are doing this in memory of 2 our colleagues, Robert & Dani, who we sadly lost to cancer.

• We started getting involved in the challenge in March 2021 and the reason for taking part was in memory of two of our much loved colleagues, Dani & Robert, who sadly passed away after being diagnosed with cancer.

• The money we raise each year is split between the Beatson Cancer Charity and St Andrew’s Hospice. The two charities provide compassionate care and support to people with terminal illnesses and their families, both of which supported our colleagues.

• Alongside raising money in memory of both of our colleagues, when we first joined the challenge it was also at a point where we were still in ‘lockdown’, so it was a great way to help people’s mental health and get out and about again.

• We have had great support from the company during our yearly challenges too. Since starting the challenge in 2021, we have raised just over £10,500 and this is one of our key highlights, as these charities are so close to our department’s heart and it’s great that so many people continue to get involved each year.

Our aim is to continue raising money every year for both charities and thank you in advance for your kind donations! :)
