So, we have some exciting news to share!! Taylor and I are absolutely thrilled + overjoyed to announce that we have officially started the adoption process! Adoption has been a call that was placed on our hearts by God all the way back to almost ten years ago when we initially started dating. Now that we have been married six years, we have spent countless hours praying, researching, waiting, praying some more... and it's time for us to put all this dreaming/desiring of growing our family into action.

We know the journey will be difficult (and scary!) at times, but we could not be more confident in the direction that God is leading us. We know He already has the most perfect baby picked out for us, whether he or she is already conceived or not. How do we know?

Psalm 139:13-16
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

We have been praying this passage over our future child for quite some time now, and we invite you to join us in this journey! They say it takes a village, and we know that MANY of you are ready to partner with us to bringing our baby home.

Here's what we know and want to share with you:

-We are working with Bethany Christian Services.

-We are at the very beginning stages of their domestic, infant adoption program.

-We are, of course, open to a baby boy or girl, who will very likely come from the state of Michigan.

-Adoption is insanely expensive (we are trusting for God's provision and moving forward in faith!), and the entire process can take anywhere from 1-2 years (starting now).

Here's how you can help support us in this season:

- PLEASE PRAY! Adoption always comes from a place of loss. Please pray for the birth mom. She is already our hero and the strongest, bravest person we will ever know. Please pray for our little one, that God would protect him/her and bring him/her to us in His perfect timing. Please pray for wisdom for us and that God would protect our hearts from getting broken in this process toward bringing our baby home. We know the risks that are involved with this, but trust in God's plan... After all, all the days of our baby's life are already written in His book!

We don't want to bombard people, but we also know that many of you are interested in following our adoption journey, so we will provide updates/prayer requests as we can.

- Please consider supporting us financially. The bare minimum cost for infant adoption through Bethany Christian Services in the state of Michigan is $29,000 (just to give you an idea). It will end up costing more than that, no doubt. We have a fundraising plan in place and hope you will consider helping us bring our baby home!

We are so excited to be beginning this adoption journey towards finding our baby and are so glad to finally be sharing this happy news with you (it was a hard secret to keep)! Thank you for sharing in our JOY!
