Mutual Aid Response App Fundraiser

Future Bound IT Ltd is an agile IT startup that supports IT networks and designs solutions from the ground up that solve business challenges. We're based in Bristol and London. We are a socially responsible company that supports refugee rights as well as other causes. In the past, we've worked with community organizations such as Acorn on app projects to help resist evictions.
This project began in April 2020 during the lockdown period. The goal has always been to create an application to support communities and the mutual aid network as well as the vital work of police monitoring groups. Working as part of a dedicated team IT consisting of Barnet UK Mutual Aid and our development partner My Remote Partner we have embraced a 'learn by doing it' style that has produced positive results.
We are now preparing for the 1st sprint and release of the software. Our overall fundraising goal is £7000.00 to begin development and of course this crowd funder contributes to that target! We don't know how long COVID will be around for so plan to create a solution that stands the test of time.
Who are Barnet UK Mutual aid?
"UK mutual aid is a group of mutual aid volunteers formed in Barnet, a borough of London in March 2020 in response to COVID-19 and the imminent threat of isolation to our most vulnerable neighbours and community. After 1,800 volunteers signing up, in 3 months, we responded to over 2,000 help requests...
Our mission is to respond to mutual aid help requests as quickly and safely as possible. We are asking for your support to help our mutual aid volunteer community by funding the design and build of our free volunteer app. We want mutual aid to be a safe and secure community, and easy for volunteers to commit the time that fits into our lives as ordinary people.
We want to make volunteering on every street in the UK easy, safe, and secure so that vulnerable people and isolated communities can rely on mutual aid volunteers when no friends, family, or others nearby." - UK Mutual aid mission statement
Who are My Remote Partner?
"My Remote Partner Ltd . is a professional on and offshore web development, mobile application development & digital marketing agency focused on accountability, cost-effectiveness and customer-focused IT solutions for small to medium sized businesses" we contacted my Remote Partner when the Barnet team expressed a need to have specialist developers at flexible rates. We've worked closely with the team and feel that we've got the right fit for this project.
Our role in the project
We are working on this project as volunteer project managers. We have experience managing both networking, unified communications and software projects, software in itself is kind of our latest 'big thing', in fact we've even successfully delivered UAT phases and navigated the testing periods just fine.

"After the app launch, we need regular maintenance and updates to make sure we are continually improving how we support the community. As such, we need ongoing funding from our supporters and members." To help with this long term goal we will allocate £3,800 to ongoing development costs and maintenance.

This consists of the important stuff like the login screen, The registration screen and of course verification.
Welcome screen and request handling
Of course we need to have a welcome screen for new users! the team are also going to work on

From here the team will then start work on
Maps and volunteer section
Maps and filters are of course important to locate your local aid group! you'll be able to view volunteers on a map
with filtered options like search by postcode and service, you'll even be able to see each volunteers profile. And finally
the team will be focusing on
My profile
Here you will be able to update your profile details, delete your profile if you want and of course, every system needs a log out option
so you'll be able to do that here too!
Working with our communities
Each version of the software will introduce new features. Due to the nature of the application we are collaborating and working with on the ground volunteers and activists and creating a solution based on the needs of the community not " nice to haves".
