My name is Millie Patrick and I live in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.  Our family owns a vacation rental company here and many people who work with us, work on 30A , or are friends live in the Panama City area.   

Many people impacted by Hurricane Michael are simply unable to get food, water and supplies that they desperately need from distribution centers TO their homes. Foldable beach carts are a great way to help this situation.

Gas is extremely limited, many people no longer have drivable transportation, trees and debris are still on the roads and a lot of people are walking long distances to distribution sites.  It’s hard to carry more than a case of water, especially long distances.  This is especially difficult for elderly residents and those with disabilities sending their children for much needed supplies.  Many volunteers are driving to homes to make deliveries to help, which is wonderful, but it also doesn’t help with the gas situation or road congestion while first responders and crews try to work to repair and clear roads. 

While there are many immediate needs, we are focusing on providing support with something that will be of tangible help weeks and months down the road.  Not just today or tomorrow.  Unfortunately, the need to bring distributed items to their homes without transportation, is probably not going to change anytime soon for many people.

100% of funds will be used to purchase foldable beach carts and provided to people in areas of most need around the Panhandle. I would be thrilled if we raised enough money to purchase 50 carts, but I’ll be glad if we are able to make a difference in the lives of only a few people.  There is mass devastation here and any donation is greatly appreciated!! I can’t express enough how grateful and humble people are here for the help that they are receiving.
