WA firearms owners legal action fund

This campaigns primary goal is to have a backup fund allocated for the greater WA firearms community to fight the current reforms being railroaded through parliament by the premier Roger Cook and Police minister Paul Papalia.

This campaign aims to raise sufficient funding that if so needed we can effectively and immediately fight the reforms alongside firearms industry and community leaders and our chosen constitutional lawyers.

It is clear the minister and premier are out of touch and care nothing about fair consultation or the effects these reforms will have on law abiding citizens.

They also seem to completely disregard all points raised in the 2016 Law Reform Commission by WA Police quote:

“These recommendations were made only a few years ago and absolutely nothing has changed to justify another "community consultation", let alone any legislation that ignores the LRCWA's Final Report recommendations. Still, the WA government has ignored the Report in order to achieve what may be described as the biggest gun control and gun confiscation in Australia's history. Indeed, the WA government is now promising a complete overhaul the firearms legislation but such a government has no right to ignore the 143 recommendations made by the Law Reform Commission just a few years ago. There is nothing in the LRCWA's Final Report that recommends further gun restrictions or the confiscation of existing licensed firearms. Of course, this aggravates the strong suspicion that the new consultation is only a set up and the government will push their anti-gun agenda regardless of any feedback provided.”

Furthermore, disregarding the largest signed e-petition in Western Australian history, which demanded that the reforms undergo scrutiny by the independent standing committee, as proposed by Rick Mazza and Nick Goiran. This petition garnered over 32,000 signatures from West Australians opposed to the reforms, advocating for their thorough examination by the standing committee.

It’s blatantly obvious the labor party is using their senate seats to railroad these reforms through with no proper oversight, accountability, transparency or understanding of the implications this will have on the firearms and shooting community. Its time we stand together and remove these public servants that were never voted into office.

Their intentions are loud, clear and blatantly obvious with no regard for the shooting community or legitimate law abiding firearms ownership. There has been no real solutions or laws presented for criminals committing serious offences or legitimately improving public safety, instead they would rather target good people.

Im sure this will be a large scale team effort across many parties however i have a feeling we may need immediate funds available if required especially with the development from Tjorn Simba MLC stating that this whole bill may be unlawful and unconstitutional under the rules of the Westminster Parliamentary System and would open and the Parliament for a legal challenge.

  • Donations will only be used if the engagement of a constitutional lawyer is required, all donations will be refunded if the reforms are dropped.

  • All transfers to lawyers or advisors will be accounted for in the updates section so you can be certain %100 of your donations are going to the cause.
