In 2022, we filled the steps of Parliament with school bags.

Each one carried a story of harm, heartbreak and hope.

They promised change.

We trusted them.

They lied.

Now we’re coming back.

THIS IS NOT A RALLY OR GATHERING

Please do not turn up on the day.

This is an accessible, visual protest – a public installation made up of hundreds of school bags and stories.

Our team will safely set up and manage the display on behalf of everyone taking part.

You don’t need to be there to be part of it.

Anyone, anywhere, can contribute their story and bag in advance.

HOW TO TAKE PART

• Order a bag and tag online

• Or drop off your bag at a collection point – contact us for one near you.

• Message ACE or Square Peg Round Whole on Facebook

Each bag costs $5 if ordering through us.

Once you pay your $5 please PM us your tag.

If you can’t afford one, please get in touch – we’ll help if we can.

When the protest ends, all bags will be donated to a charity supporting children and families.

HOW TO HELP

Share our FB posts

Share it in your community groups.

Share it with anyone you know who cares about public education.

Tag anyone you can think of – parents, carers, students, professionals, community members –

but please protect our teachers and share privately with them instead.

Contact your local MP and ask them to attend.

Ask them to come and see the bags.

Ask them to read the stories and face the truth.

Do whatever you can to spread this message.

Because none of us are okay – and it’s time they stopped ignoring that.

Permission and Media Notice

By taking part, you give permission for your tag and story to be displayed at the Keep Your Promises – WA Education in Crisis visual protest and in related advocacy activities.

Media may be present and may photograph or film the display. Please make sure your story is de-identified. If you forget, our team will do this for you before it is displayed.
