Hello world, my name is Lori-Anne. I am raising funds for my dearest friend, Alejandra Calderon.

Alejandra's cousin, Johanna Patricia Calderon arrived in Canada as a refugee with her 3 sons in May 2022. Johanna and her children fled Cali, Colombia with nothing but the clothes on their backs. It was a very long and scary journey for them.. crossing Mexico and the USA and finally making their way to Canada.

They slowly began to settle here in Montreal with the help of Alejandra and her family. It has been a rocky road, but the children aged 14, 11 and 10 years old have been resilient.. and are adapting to Canadian life. They experienced their first snow... for the first time in December 2022. Johanna, Sebastian, Martin and Esteban were hopeful for their future.

The night of Friday, January 6th into Saturday morning.. Johanna was going home in a Uber ride and her ride was struck by a drunk driver.

Johanna has since been in a coma. The doctors fear she may not wake up. If she does.. she will have permanent disabilities.

Johanna was the sole provider for her family. She may never get to see her babies' faces again.

Bonjour à tous, je m'appelle Lori-Anne. Je collecte des fonds pour ma très chère amie, Alejandra Calderon.

La cousine d'Alejandra, Johanna Patricia Calderon, est arrivée au Canada en tant que réfugiée avec ses trois fils en mai 2022. Johanna et ses enfants ont fui Cali, en Colombie, avec rien d'autre que les vêtements qu'ils portaient. Ce fut un voyage très long et effrayant pour eux... ils ont traversé le Mexique et les États-Unis pour finalement arriver au Canada.

Ils ont lentement commencé à s'installer ici à Montréal avec l'aide d'Alejandra et de sa famille. La route a été semée d'embûches, mais les enfants, âgés de 14, 11 et 10 ans, ont fait preuve de résilience et s'adaptent à la vie canadienne. Ils ont connu leur première neige... pour la première fois en décembre 2022. Johanna, Sebastian, Martin et Esteban étaient pleins d'espoir pour leur avenir.

La nuit du vendredi 6 janvier au samedi matin... Johanna rentrait a la maison en Uber et son véhicule a été heurté par un conducteur ivre.

Depuis, Johanna est dans le coma. Les médecins craignent qu'elle ne se réveillera pas. Si elle se réveille... elle aura un handicap permanent.

Johanna était la seule personne à subvenir aux besoins de sa famille. Elle ne verra peut-être plus jamais le visage de ses bébés.

Étant moi-même mère de trois enfants, cette histoire m'a brisé le cœur. S'il vous plaît, pensez à faire un don. Je sais que la situation économique actuelle n'est pas idéale, mais tout don sera apprécié. Je vous en suis reconnaissante.
