This was created with love to assist with the unexpected costs of losing a loved one and to celebrate the life of Celeste Wilcox.
Celeste (Worthington) Wilcox, 66 from the community of San Carlos in San Diego passed away on October 14, 2020 in her home after a brief struggle with cancer.
She was born March 19, 1954, in Baltimore, MD. The Worthington family moved to San Diego, CA in 1969 and then settled in San Carlos in 1970. Celeste was the 1st child among 5 siblings. She graduated from Patrick Henry Evening High School in 1973, where later in the years she proudly taught.
On New Year Eve , 1986 Celeste married the love of her life, Karl Wilcox also from San Carlos. They returned to San Carlos when they bought their home in 2002.
Celeste was a remarkable teacher and advocate for her students at Patrick Henry High School for over 20 years. She retired in 2017 to spend time with her husband and family. Celeste immersed herself in her studies with passion. She dedicated herself to community engagement projects that made a difference to so many especially children.
Celeste’s passion was gardening, cooking, reading and her love for music and animals. Family was everything to her and she loved them immensely. She adored her granddaughter, Hallie, her beautiful pride and joy.
Celeste not only was loved by her family, friends, coworkers but by her students.
Here are a few kinds words said about Celeste:
- “She was a true example of love and loved with out any borders” – E.R.
- “She had a sweet soul that radiates with her beauty, love and laughter” – C.M.J.
- “She was a treasure to so many and loved beyond a thought” – S.P.B.
- “Mrs Wilcox was an absolute legend and her spirit, ambition and the love she showed us as her students will certainly live on for many generations to come” – R.B.
- “We as staff at PHHS will always remember her passion, her laugh, her hugs and her desire to make sure her students become wonderful human beings. She definitely left her mark on this world” – J.H.
As you can see, Celeste not only has lived in San Carlos since she was a teenager as did her husband Karl. I hope we can come together as one with assistance for unexpected costs that come with the loss of a loved one. Thank you in advanced for you love and support as your gift will be greatly appreciated.
Please send loving thoughts and prayers for the family during this time.
Sincerely with Love,
Celeste (Cecil) Montalvo
