My name is Drew, a 33-year-old male who is in recovery, and I am starting a GoFundMe for my biological older brother, Miles (36 years old), to help him in his recovery journey. He was admitted to the ER for alcohol poisoning recently after falling off the rails. The doctors thought this may have been a suicide attempt because his blood alcohol level was .458, which would kill most people. He had attained sobriety after a few rough years with my mother, father, and grandpa passing away all within 6 months of each other. He is the only member of my immediate family that's still alive, and I do not want to bury him. I live in Florida, and he lives in Michigan, which makes things more difficult. When he was in the ER, I traveled to Michigan to show him he's loved and supported, and if he would go to a rehabilitation center then a sober living home, which he agreed to. I have spent all my savings to go to Michigan to see him and make sure he wanted change. He is almost done with a program at Sacred Heart in Richmond, Michigan, and needs help with getting the first month's rent (at a sober living house), which I am personally trying everything I can, but I'm worried I won't have it all by the time he needs it sometime next week (mid-November). Any donations are greatly appreciated because he will not fare well being homeless in Michigan during winter. Please help me in getting the $600 needed to pay the first month's rent at the sober living facility in Traverse City, MI. Then $600 will pay his car payment and insurance so his car is not repossessed and ruin his credit. All help is greatly appreciated and goes to his housing and car bills until he finds another job!
