Hi, my name is Charde McMillan, and I’m fundraising for my son Mason. In 2023, our world changed forever when Mason developed sepsis, a fast-moving infection that resulted in the loss of both his hands and his feet. Mason is a fighter, and we are so proud of his strength and spirit, but the journey ahead is overwhelming — emotionally, physically, and financially. We are asking for your help to give Mason the tools, therapy, and care he needs to build a new life.
Our Story:
What started as a normal day turned into a nightmare when Mason suddenly fell critically ill with sepsis. Despite the doctors’ best efforts to stop it, the infection spread rapidly. Mason fought through it, survived the unimaginable, but he paid a devastating price: the loss of his hands and feet. Since then, Mason has spent months in the hospital and rehab, learning how to live again without the limbs most of us take for granted. Our family is doing everything we can to support him, but the costs are staggering. Medical bills, prosthetics, intensive therapy, home modifications, transportation to and from appointments — they add up fast. Insurance covers some, but not nearly enough. We’ve sold belongings, emptied savings, and stretched ourselves to the limit just trying to stay afloat. Mason is tough and determined. He works hard every day to adapt, to stay positive, to dream about a future where he can run, play, and live independently. But he cannot do it alone, and neither can we. That’s why we’re reaching out for help.

• Physical and occupational therapy
• Home accessibility modifications (wheelchair ramps, bathroom equipment, etc.)
• Specialized medical equipment
• Transportation for frequent medical appointments
