On August 21, our lives changed forever when my mom was detained by ICE. Since that day, my brothers and I have been living with a hole in our hearts, trying to navigate life without the person who has always been there . My mom has raised three kids on her own, never once gave up on us, even when life gave her every reason to. She worked long hours, sacrificed her own needs, and carried the weight of the world on her shoulders just to make sure we had food on the table, clothes on our backs, and a chance at a better future.

My mom is more than just our mother. She is the most loving, kind-hearted, and selfless person you could ever meet. She has always given everything she has to others, whether it’s a helping hand, a listening ear, or her unconditional love. She never asked for anything in return, only the chance to live a peaceful life and watch her kids grow into the people she’s worked so hard to raise.
