Hello friends and family,
For those who may not know me, my name is Steven (Xander) Schroeder, and I am a current Life Scout in Boy Scout Troop 390.
Starting last February, I began work on my Eagle project, which aimed to reduce water usage in the Mission City Memorial Park (a local cemetery). To do this, I aimed to convert a .8 acre area known as a Paupers field from a grass lawn with a sprinkler system to drip irrigation and working with the local water district selected approximately 200 drought resistant plants and 350 cu yds of mulch. The project has been very successful in this goal, and will save the cemetery an estimated 1.1 million gallons of water a year. Unfortunately, my project has yet to be fully funded. Between the combined costs of the irrigation hose, ground stakes, hose fittings, tool rentals, and food for the workers, the project has cost just over 2,500 dollars. I have already raised 1,000 dollars through bake sales and other fundraising, but that leaves 1,500 left in the hole. According to the rules for these projects set by BSA, this money can only come through fundraisers like this one, which puts me in a rough spot.

I turn 18 in 15 days, on November 16th. By that time, if the project is not fully funded, approved by the cemetery, and passed through the Eagle Project Board, I will be unable to reach the rank of Eagle.
