Support Public Art at South Chicago Meeting of Styles 2025

The South Chicago Meeting of Styles will include live mural painting with a marketplace for community-based artisans, panel discussions on art and environmental advocacy, and free entertainment in mid-September 2025. This year, we will continue offering a community resource fair, along with a youth photography contest.

We are raising money to cover the following:

Food, Water & Supplies for Artists (Friday-Sunday), Community Partners, and Attendees (Saturday), Free Entertainment & Giveaways (DJs, Low-Rider Show, Vendors), Sanitary Supplies (toilet paper, soap, portable potty rentals, garbage bags, paper towels), Pre and Post-Event Local Area Clean-up Initiative & Disposable Cameras and Stipend for Youth Photography Contest.

Building on the success of our 2024 youth photography initiative at Meeting of Styles, we're excited to expand this transformative program for 2025. Our unique approach pairs young photographers (ages 18-24) with disposable cameras to document one of Chicago's most vibrant street art festivals. Last year, we empowered local youth to capture the raw energy and artistic process of international muralists, culminating in a powerful gallery exhibition. This year, we aim to increase our impact by including more young photographers and extending the program's reach. Your support will help cover essential costs including cameras, film processing, and professional printing - approximately $150-200 per participant. Help us nurture the next generation of visual storytellers while preserving the dynamic cultural heritage of South Chicago's street art scene.
