Help bring ubuntu-based principles directly to classrooms to teach students how to listen deeply, respect others, and find common ground in our interactions in order to build a more connected world.
Archbishop Desmond Tutu said, “I Am Because We Are." This essence of being human together is called ubuntu. By integrating ubuntu-based principles where we live, work, learn, and engage with others, we can build a more connected and peaceful world.
In 2023, the Ubuntuworks Peace Education Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by civil rights attorney, Eric Sirotkin, made initial steps to create an infrastructure to bring relational practices to our lives. To date, we have accomplished the following:
o Built an information-rich, scalable website,
o Opened the Ubuntuworks School with accredited legal classes,
o Developed a resource hub of ubuntu articles and information,
o Gathered an international development board, and,
o Created free online courses on ubuntu-based principles.
We are now ready to take the next step by bringing ubuntu-based practices to more classrooms.
With your participation, we will create free education materials by developing new courses on ubuntu practices, by creating a unique hub of resources for ubuntu-based research, as well as continuing to bring ubuntu-based teaching to classrooms.
Along with Eric in the Southwest U.S., our board of directors bring together a rich history of scholarship, leadership, and education that reflects the shared work of bringing ubuntu to a wider audience to resolve conflicts, listen actively, and use empathy in our daily lives.

Some days it seems humanity has lost hope and we forget that we are interconnected. Our ability to connect with each other deteriorates and our worlds look smaller. The Ubuntuworks Education Project was developed to remind ourselves of our humanity through connecting with others.
