Save Our Dad from Deportation

My name is Jade Vongbandith, and I am reaching out to ask for your help in saving our dad. As the youngest in our family, I've witnessed the profound impact of a situation that has spiraled beyond our control. This is a story that resonates with many families—a moment of fear and misunderstanding leading to a nightmare we can’t seem to escape. Twenty years ago, my oldest sister fell in love with someone older, and when their relationship came to light, it set off a series of events that led to our dad taking a plea for a crime he did not commit. The fear of facing an unfair trial compelled him to make a heartbreaking decision, one that has haunted our family ever since.
The repercussions of this decision were devastating. Our parents faced legal battles, financial ruin, and the unimaginable pain of being separated from us. My dad lost his job and his chance at citizenship while my mom exhausted every resource to bring us home. Despite their efforts, the legal system's complexities left us scattered in foster homes, and my dad wrongly imprisoned. Even when we were finally reunited, the specter of deportation loomed large. Fast forward sixteen years, and after rebuilding their lives in Philadelphia, we are once again confronted with the past as Laos is now willing to accept deportees. Our dad, despite his failing health due to COVID and heart issues, stands strong, but time is not on our side.
We are determined to fight for our dad and need your support in this battle. Legal costs are significant, and the journey ahead is daunting, but we cannot give up on him. My siblings and I are prepared to stand by him in court, hoping to reopen his case or secure a compassionate stay. He deserves the chance to live with dignity and access the medical care he desperately needs. If you know our parents, you know their generosity and resilience, always ready to help others despite their own struggles. We humbly ask for your help to save our dad, a man who has given so much and now needs us more than ever. Thank you for considering our plea and for any support you can offer.
