Hi,
My name is Jensen, and I am a Year 10 Student at Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School .
My school has given me the amazing opportunity to go on a Camps International expedition to Peru in July 2026.
This incredible opportunity isn't just about exploration, it s a chance to make a real difference in the lives of local communities and wildlife in Peru. I will be getting stuck in to a lot of project work, and offering important support to those who need it and helping to protect the wildlife of Peru.
During the 4-week expedition I will be involved in:
Community project work, where we will be making a big impact to the local area, such as building schools, constructing community buildings and toilets. As well as taking in the culture of Peru, including dance lessons by the local community and trying out the amazing food the country has to offer.
Wildlife conservations, where we will work with local people to help de worm many different animals to prevent future illnesses which could cause more harm to the animals.
Trek, a 4 day 5 nights trek to the iconic machu picchu located in the Peruvian alps. We will be taking the salkante trek where we will have to camp in tents every night use bucket showers long drop toilets and wash our own clothes along the way ( We will have to do this the hole trip) instead of the more famous Inca trail because it has a wider variety of nature such as walking through the cloud forest which is part of the amazon rainforest and also walking through snowy mountains and steep rocky mountains until finally reaching the final destination machu piccu.
The communities I will be working with will have little income other than the wide range of coffee they sell and a not so reliable farming system due to droughts and infertile soil to work with.
I need to fund raise £4,720 to enable me to take part in the expedition.
Your donation isn't just a contribution it's an investment in positive change. Together we can improve communities, save wildlife and leave a lasting legacy in the communities .
Previously, with the help of students like me, Camps International have; positively impacted the lives of over 120,000 people, provided homes for more than 60 of the poorest families, helped to protect 250,000 hectares of wilderness in 7 of the world's biodiverse hotspots, vaccinated more than 34,000 livestock and established at least 1.1 million extra tress.
Please support me in this meaningful adventure, and together we can make a difference.
