Helping a Single Momma In Need

Hi all! My name is Lacey and I am starting a fundraiser for one of my best friends who has become like family to me. This woman is one of the most selfless humans I have ever met. She is always offering to help and going above and beyond, both professionally and personally. I am constantly astonished by her ability to still think of others, even when things are rough for her. She rarely asks for help and is such a badass single mother.

Right now, she is going through a very tough time. She is currently faced with having to find a lawyer and fight for custody of her youngest daughter. Her ex has taken their child and refuses to return her or let her mother see her. Without a legal custody agreement in place, she is forced to file quickly.

Both her daughters have always lived with her. Her daughter's life resides with her a majority of the time, and this is the school that the young girl attends. My friend has raised her and her older sister as a single mother, taking on the responsibility of providing for the three of them on her own. She works full-time (and then some), while also going to school part-time to provide for a better future for her family. She does this to support both of her daughters, without financial or physical help from others.

This woman would do anything for her daughters and to keep her family safe and together. She wants to ensure that her youngest daughter's life remains unfazed by the current situation and that she can continue to enjoy life as she knows it.

This emergent, unanticipated, and imperative expense to file for custody has left her in quite a financial hardship. This fundraiser is to help cover the cost of filing, as well as a retainer for a family lawyer and additional legal fees associated with this.
