Join Us to Support Jen in Her Fight Against Cancer

We are friends of Jen who are raising money on her behalf.

To know Jennifer French Murray (Tezucar) is to love her. Her genuine love of life and people and experiences are infectious. She makes best friends of absolute strangers and turns the most mundane of tasks into adventures. Jenn’s greatest joys in life are her daughters, Aliyana (Yaya) and Amelia (Mimi) who will be in 8th and 6th grade this coming school year.

Jen and her family need our help.

On May 31, 2022, Jen received a Stage III Colon Cancer diagnosis. Just six weeks later, she was told it had progressed to Stage IV. Those of us lucky enough to know Jen personally, know that she is a fighter and so, she started her fight. Through chemotherapy, radiation, and multiple surgeries, Jen continued to work full time, fully supporting her girls in their academic and cheer endeavors and taking on additional work to ease financial strain. After eight months of fighting, Jen presented no evidence of disease!

Unfortunately, just seven months later, doctors found a recurrence of cancer in both lungs. In November of 2023, Jen had the first of two surgeries to remove parts of both of her lungs. Despite her positive attitude and fighting spirit, Jen’s recovery was harder than anyone expected and, sadly the surgeries did not yield the results we had all hoped for. Her cancer is back in both what remains of her lungs as well as in her liver.

In April of 2024, Jen was informed by her doctors that the rest of her care would be palliative aimed at making her comfortable living with her diagnosis. She has restarted chemo and continues to fight to be here for her girls.

Your help is needed to ease some of the financial burden these last years of fighting have created. While continuing to work fulltime, Jen has taken on extra jobs — nannying, housekeeping, and more — in order to maintain her medical insurance and bills and costs of living. Our goal is to help alleviate some of Jen’s financial burdens so that she can focus on her fight, alleviating stress and finding time to rest.

The Jenefit aims to provide an avenue to garner the support Jen needs during this time. All contributions are truly and deeply appreciated.
