Feeding First Responders

Background
We are Asians in America  (AiA). AiA is a new grassroots organization with a mission to create a pan-Asian-American movement to increase social services to the Asian-American community and empower the Asian-American community to take advantage of them.

However, we quickly realized that our community needed our help NOW and we would best serve the community by feeding the first responders who are putting themselves at risk to battle the coronavirus and protect our communities.

Feeding First Responders
This first week of 1,200 meals was funded by real estate development company F&T Group but we are now seeking further donations so that we can meet our goal of delivering 250 meals everyday.

Past restaurants we have worked with include:
Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao
Guan Fu Sichuan
Hope to See You
PappaRich
TKK Fried Chicken

Current restaurants we are working with include:
Coffee Project NY
Nora Thai
Popeyes
Kaifee Coffee
Lucy’s Vietnamese
• New Mei Hua
Spot Dessert Bar
LoveMama

Past frontline workers we’ve visited include those at:
• the 109th Precinct
• Flushing Hospital
• New York Presbyterian Queens
• Elmhurst Hospital
• FDNY Engine 274 Battalion 52
• Union Plaza Care Center
• Jamaica Hospital

How You Can Help
You can help us by donating to our GoFundMe.  By donating to our GoFundMe, we will be able to purchase 250 meals everyday to feed our first responders. Your donation will also enable us to expand our outreach to serve individuals and families who cannot afford or are unable to access fresh food at this time.

How Else You Can Help
You can help us by volunteering to deliver meals, connecting us with members of the press, or partnering with us as a restaurant owner or business owner.

Please e-mail us at info@aianyc.org to volunteer to deliver meals or connect us with members of the press.

If you are a restaurant owner or business owner who would like to partner with us, please e-mail us at queena@aianyc.org with the subject headline "AiA Partnership."

If you would like to request delivery as an organization,  you can e-mail mike@aianyc.org with the subject headline "Food Delivery Request: Organization's Name."

Plans for the Future
Although we would love to deliver to individuals or families in need, we are unable to do so at this time due to a lack of sufficient resources. We are, however, connecting those in need with existing programs, such as the NYC Food Delivery Assistance program . If you need food delivered and do not know how to register for the NYC Food Delivery Assistance program, please let us know and we would be happy to help you register.
