The money raised here will go to help families with children who are dealing with health crisis who due to the pandemic are on the verge of being homeless. Your donations will help keep them housed and fed. Their stories are below. Thank You.
A member of our community, Viridiana Martinez has a 2-year-old child who recently received a liver transplant. After a surgery he was left with some complications that require medicine and daily visits to the doctor's office. Viridiana's husband recently lost lost his job due to the pandemic. She sells tamales and tacos on the weekends to pay for food and utilities. They have not been able to pay rent and could soon be evicted, and the children will have no place to live. She applied for city and county rent relief programs but was told she did not qualify.
Jocelyne Vazquez another member of our community, has a little girl who was born Down Syndrome and was recently diagnosed with cancer. She and her husband have both lost their jobs due to the pandemic and that have not been able to pay rent. With the little income she gets from selling hand made t-shirts, she is able to pay for utilities and food, and her fear is that she might get an eviction notice soon. This situation is heartbreaking. COVID-19 has affected undocumented immigrants in the most horrible ways. Families are not only losing their sources of income but they are also losing loved ones who have been infected and unfortunately have passed away.
We are asking every single one of you for help. These families are desperate they do not know what to do and the worst part its that we do not know for how long this pandemic will last and for how much longer it will keep affecting us. Every little contribution helps we know this is a difficult time for everyone and we appreciate every donation whether its a dollar or two anything helps. Please help these families in need. God bless all of you.
