The Family Haven was established in 1988 to help disadvantaged and vulnerable families in Gloucestershire to a brighter future. We help parents and their pre-school children by providing a warm, caring and supportive day centre where assistance and encouragement is available to help them to improve the quality of their lives; it is a literally a haven for families in Gloucester with small children who are facing difficult times. Many of our families have experienced domestic abuse, poverty, homelessness, trauma, social isolation and displacement. They have often moved house multiple times or are living in unsuitable housing. Most are living with ental health issues and depression.

The Family Haven provides a whole family approach by ensuring the children receive high quality care and learning in our on-site nursery whilst their parents are supported through Parenting classes, Personal Development sessions, Health Eating classes, Employability skills, training, English Classes, Well-Being sessions and Active Listening and Advice. We work closely with other organisations such as Health Visitors, Social Workers, local Schools and nurseries to ensure the families get the help they need.

Any funds raised will go towards the running costs of The Family Haven, a place the families call 'their safe haven, a home from home'.

A £10.00 donation would cover the cost of: 30 minutes of 1-1 sessions and 30mins of Parenting class. £20.00 will cover 1hour of Health Eating Classes and Personal Development Session. £100 will cover the cost of a whole day of support for one individual.
