Destination Kenya, Here I come!!!

Hi there.
My name is Lily, I am 13 and below is a brief description of a once in a lifetime experience, I want to share with you and hope you can join me on my journey!
My aim is to make a difference and contribute to the world we all love and live in. I am passionate girl and want to give back to the world and relish the challenge in helping those in need.

Kenya – A 4 week expedition, I will be working across three separate camps, ranging from environmental and wildlife conservation projects. I will be creating new plantation for sustained natural growth and providing a sanctuary for the local people and animals, helping with food and shelter for long term use. I’ll build deterrent fencing which will help keep the Elephants away from the farming areas keeping the natural growth which supports the local communities whilst making this the safest way for the elephants to steer away. This will also contribute to the long-term financial independence. I will have the great opportunity to meet and inspiring the locals in women’s aid workshops and even meet with the famous Maasai Tribe.

I believe that I can make a difference in working in these communities and learning a difference of a ways of living. As well as learning my own skills to adulthood. I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty which will help me when I start working with the community in their construction projects including building work, painting, plastering and maintaining a clean environment for the locals to come together as one.

Now, before I can do any of these amazing things, the challenge is to fundraise the monies to help get me make my difference in Kenya! I’m stepping outside my comfort zone and fear of heights to complete an abseil 100ft in Plymouth. This is the first steps in becoming apart of something bigger than myself. Whilst I await this, I will be contributing as much as I can including showcasing my already overwhelming support from the local business groups at the local fates. As well as hosting a Christmas quiz alongside my mum. We will be crafting, creating and sharing lots of ways to raise the pots! Please keep an eye out for my name!

I already have a number of badges representing local businesses and this is an opportunity for anyone to join us also!

Any contributions along my journey will be warmly received and your generosity can be in in your own way. Sharing and support is welcomed too!

£4000 is my target and the amount needed to get me to Africa. I will keep you all posted with each milestone hit along the way!
