Help my mom beat cancer!

Donation protected
Hi everyone!

My name's Megan and I'm raising money to help my mother with her medical bills after getting diagnosed with Stage IV cancer.

You're likely here due to our recent viral video of my father helping her after she was released from the hospital. It drew so much love and support, and I'm excited for an opportunity to share a little more about their story...

My father, originally from Hawai'i, was stationed in California during his time in the military. There, he met my mom and they had my brother and I. Unfortunately, they separated shortly after I was born. My mom did her best to raise us as a single mom on the salary of an elementary school teacher, as my father eventually returned to Hawai'i. Fast forward 20+ years later to my mother's diagnosis - my father was one of the first people by her side when she was released from the hospital. Although I made the difficult decision to move home and be with her, I felt overwhelmed with the responsibility. I work full-time in domestic violence services and am currently a graduate student studying Marriage and Family Therapy. My father, seeing how hard I was working to take care of my mother while keeping up with my job and studies, flew out to California to help. This was the first time in my 27 years of life that I ever saw them live under the same roof. He did everything - helped her exercise (even when she felt like she couldn't), cooked her meals, took her out on drives, picked up her medications, and so much more. They talked for hours. They bickered like they were still married. They laughed. They helped me see them as they were when they were younger.

If our video going viral showed me anything, it showed me how many people could relate to their story - still honoring old love, loyalty, and vows in the strangest of times.

If you have anything to give as my mom battles cancer, please know it is for a wonderful woman who has fought much bigger difficult battles than this one. If you have nothing to give, please know your prayers are more than enough.
