West Lancs Scouts - Malawi 2025
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Will I am 20 years old and in 2022, I was lucky enough to go on a three week long West Lancs Scouts Community Project trip to Malawi, Africa.
I am happy to say that I have been selected to take part in the trip again in 2025, this time as an assistant leader for the contingent.
As a part of this trip, we will be working closely with a charity called FOMO (Friends of Malawian Orphans). The work that this charity does is truly inspirational. They help people from a range of different ages with things that may seem basic to us. Food, Water, Education, Shelter.
Whilst I was there last time, we achieved some very impressive things. Such as renovations/improvements of facilities at a pre-existing FOMO site (Building new toilets, building a chicken coup, building a water collection system, building rocket stoves), and most impressive of all, a new community centre/school that was built from the foundations up.
As we are in the early stages of this trip, we can not say what the projects will be this time around but they will be on a similar scale to last time. We are working with FOMO to work out what is needed most and as soon as we have an answer I will update this post.

Thank you for taking your time to read this.
Any donations that you make are greatly appreciated and will go towards making this trip possible.
