I am Nerissa Allwood, a resident of Mountainside, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Hurricane Melissa, a powerful Category 5 storm, devastated our island, and our parish and community suffered tremendous damage. In just one day, the hurricane tore off roofs, flooded homes, and destroyed almost everything in its path. Now, more than 90% of our community is homeless or living without a proper roof.

Families are sleeping under tarps, in damaged houses, or crowded in with neighbors who are also struggling. Many lost everything including their homes, belongings, and don’t know where to begin rebuilding.

I’m raising funds to help my community recover and rebuild by providing the necessary resources and equipment. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference for families who urgently need shelter, food, and hope.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support in helping Mountainside rise again.
