Every day, more than 1,200 people are released from state and federal prisons across the United States. Each person steps back into a community—some with family waiting, others without a support system to welcome them home. Many return determined to rebuild, but determination alone does not remove the barriers standing between them and a stable future.

My name is Malik Al‑Malaki II, Executive Director of Vast Reentry Services. VRS works to help justice-involved individuals and other underserved community members move forward through practical skills training, digital access, workforce preparation, participant support and structured pathways toward stability.

We are launching the VRS $20K Transformation in Action Campaign—a focused seven-day fundraising effort to raise $20,000 and strengthen the services our participants need now.

Your contribution will help support:

• Applied-skills and workforce-readiness training

• Participant workbooks, learning materials and immediate support needs

• Computers, digital access and technology-assisted learning

• Outreach, enrollment and community engagement

• Program delivery, documentation and compliance infrastructure

• Operational capacity needed to serve participants consistently and responsibly

This campaign is about more than meeting an organizational goal. It is about helping people gain the tools, structure and opportunity needed to build a more stable future.
